Mental Health Counseling, PC.
At my core, I value open-mindedness, authenticity, flexibility, respect, and reliability.
to the next step on your mental health journey! Life tends to hand us painful experiences that make us feel overwhelmed, stressed, and unable to cope. If you feel this way and need support, you have come to the right place.
My name is Courtney Wagner.
I am a dual licensed psychotherapist in Virginia and New York. I specialize in interventions based on cultural awareness and individual client presentation in sessions. I utilize evidence-based interventions in therapy sessions, including CBT, trauma-based CBT, DBT, Solution Focused, Positive Psychology, Narrative therapy, and Reality Therapy. Included in each modality listed will be a strength-based approach. Areas of advanced training are as follows: Family Systems Trauma Therapy, Certified Sex Offender Treatment Provider, Mastering, and Immigration Evaluation Training. Additionally, I provide immigration evaluations for Hardship, VAWA, Asylum, and U Visa cases. Furthermore, I have been a guest speaker for private and corporate events.
My clinical background includes working in inpatient and outpatient mental hospitals, school settings, and private practice. Within this umbrella, I have provided therapeutic services to clients with personality and mood disorders, LGBT+ affirmative psychotherapy, trauma, and other clinical areas listed below. I identify as an Afro-Carribean-American, cisgender female (she/her), and a member of the LGBT+ community. I aim to establish a trusting and comfortable clinical relationship with my clients.
We may find ourselves worrying, having difficulties with sleep, or having irritability. I provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can process your feelings, feel heard, and empowered. If we work together, you'll be able to tell your story, learn how to regulate your emotions, experience mental clarity, and have the ability to cope healthily within your life. So let's navigate your journey together!
